Abigail enters a political marriage, and on their first night her new husband bluntly tells her he will never love her. Unused to humans, she panics and takes his words to mean she might not be allowed to eat. She is an earl's daughter who was the Monster King in a previous life, and she has spent years neglected by her former family. Now, through food, she sets out to charm her earnest military husband and the rest of his household, one bite at a time, on her way to a happy ending. The story is a fantasy romance built around meals.
