A man hired to slaughter a thousand foxes finds himself married to one. She's supposed to seduce him into stopping, instead she falls for him while watching her people die. By the end, you're not thinking about the hunt anymore, you're thinking about whether love can survive what they've done to each other to stay alive.
A fortuneteller informs Hidari Taisho that conquering the country will require him to kill a thousand foxes. He hires Akuemon, a man nobody likes, to do the hunting. The foxes respond by sending one of their own, a female fox posing as his wife, to live in Akuemon's home. Akuemon has never loved anyone. The fox woman mourns as her comrades are killed, yet over time she discovers true love in him. This romantic fantasy OVA is the sixth work in The Lion Books series. It is also the first time Makoto Tezuka, Tezuka's elder son, has turned one of his father's original works into animation.
