Zagan is supposed to be the most powerful sorcerer alive, but he's completely defenseless against a single elf who has no idea what she's doing either. The show gets its comedy and warmth from two people who are genuinely bad at understanding each other, learning to communicate, and falling in love anyway. What hits is watching a feared archdemon spend his fortune, his reputation, and his carefully constructed walls on someone who makes him feel small.

Zagan is a young sorcerer the masses fear, and he is in line for a seat among the 13 Archdemons after the death of their eldest member, Marchosias. At the dead Archdemon's estate auction he falls for Nephelia, a rare and beautiful elf slave, at first sight, and he spends every coin he has to bring her home to his castle. The problem: he has no idea how to talk to her. Socially clumsy and foulmouthed, Zagan fumbles through their life together, while the timid Nephy, as he calls her, longs for her master but cannot work out how to reach him. Her past is mysterious and troubling, which leaves Zagan plenty to learn about her. As they grow closer, it becomes clear her feelings may match his own, in a fantasy romance with some action.
