The joke is Ako can't tell the game from real life, so she treats her guild like actual people who matter. Hideki gets dragged into proving she's right. The show moves fast enough that you never have time to care that nothing really happens, and the comedy lands because every character gets a real laugh, not just the girl with the biggest, everything. This is what a harem show looks like when it actually wants you to like all the people in it.

Hideki learned his lesson the hard way when his online crush turned out to be a guy. Now he refuses to trust any girl he meets in an online game. His resolve crumbles when Ako, a player with a female avatar in his guild, confesses her love and asks to marry him in the game. After the guild members agree to meet offline, Hideki discovers that Ako really is a girl, and that she and the rest of the guild attend his school. The catch: Ako cannot separate the online world from reality, and she is a loner who has trouble communicating. Hideki and his guild friends decide to work together to help her. The result is a romantic comedy with ecchi touches.
