SYNOPSIS
Twelve-year-old Misaki moves to Tokyo and stumbles into Angelic Layer, a competitive sport where players called Deuses control miniature humanoid dolls through pure thought. These Angels battle in arenas while their operators command them through mental connection, transforming raw willpower into combat strategy. Misaki quickly becomes obsessed, constructing her own Angel named Hikaru from scratch and diving headfirst into the tournament circuit alongside her new friends. What begins as a fun hobby evolves into something far more serious when Misaki discovers the depth of competition at higher levels. National championships loom ahead, and her opponents aren't just stronger trainers with better equipment, they're hardened veterans who've dedicated years to mastering the game. Between adjusting to life in a sprawling city, managing school, and pushing her Angel's abilities to their limits, Misaki faces mounting pressure from all sides.
