In the near future, GunPla Battles, fights between Gundam plastic models powered by Plavsky particles, have become a global craze during the Second GunPla Boom. Sei Iori, a first-year middle schooler and the only son of a model shop owner, has a father who once reached the finals of the world tournament. Sei is a gifted builder but has little skill at actually battling. Then he meets Reiji, a mysterious boy who knows oddly little about everyday society yet proves to be a formidable fighter. The two combine Sei's building talent with Reiji's piloting, aiming to win the GunPla World Tournament with Sei's custom Build Strike Gundam.
