Before the curse devours a classroom, there's a girl in a basement with her sister, worried about something she can't name. SYNOPSIS
Two identical twins enjoy their final summer days in Yomiyama City before school returns, wandering through shopping districts and game arcades with carefree abandon. Misaki visits her sister Mei, and the pair burn through their remaining vacation exploring the sleepy town together. But beneath the heat-hazed leisure, something darker waits. Mei carries an unsettling secret about her upcoming class: rumors speak of a curse that claims lives each year, an invisible weight hanging over the students who will sit in those desks come fall. When the sisters venture into the basement and later to a local amusement park, Mei's anxiety deepens into something far more immediate. She begins seeing signs of death around Misaki, grotesque visual omens that mark the condemned. The twins are trapped in the final moments before tragedy strikes, aware that something terrible approaches but powerless to stop it. What begins as innocent nostalgia curdles into dread as the summer's last hours tick away toward an irreversible ending.
