A girl with a voice that doesn't feel strong enough meets a guy who crashed from the sky, and somehow both of them start fixing what's broken inside each other instead of the airship. The magic system runs on singing, which sounds cutesy until you realize every song is a conversation between two people trying to matter to someone. One OVA can't build the world the game created, but it doesn't need to, it just needs to show you why these two are worth following into whatever comes next.

Aurica is a Reyvateil, a girl who can wield magic by singing, but she feels her songs are of little use to anyone. Then Lyner Barsett comes down from the tower of Ar Tonelico, and his airship crashes to the ground right on top of her. The two set out together to find someone who can repair the wrecked ship, and along the way they meet Krusche. Through the journey, Lyner shows Aurica, without meaning to, that a Song succeeds when the singer truly wants to help others. Based on the PlayStation 2 RPG, this single-episode OVA mixes action, adventure, fantasy and science fiction.
