A young boy named Daichi Meguru and a pilot called Mayu flee their war-torn planet and head out into space. They are searching for the fabled Mirror of Arei, which is said to let anyone who sees it cross beyond the edge of the universe. Along the way their ship is taken over by Zero, a renegade android who had stowed away on board. Once the three realize they are chasing the same goal, they team up to continue the journey together. Adapted from a manga by Leiji Matsumoto, this science fiction adventure film was first shown at the 1985 World Expo in Tsukuba, Japan.
