Life on the planet Cyress is peaceful until Solomon, a shadowy terrorist group headed by Duran Gash, takes seven PDP missiles capable of wiping out entire planets. Jim Hyatt is chosen to lead a team on a mission that looks impossible: rescue the hostages and either recover or destroy the missiles. The catch is that his team members do not much like one another. This OVA version abridges the 1998 TV series AWOL, cutting roughly a third of it and turning a notoriously slow show into a faster sci-fi action thriller full of terrorists, hackers, stoic squad leaders, explosions, and the fate of Earth hanging in the balance.
