Jinto and Lafiel's relationship stops performing and starts existing, two people navigating empire, duty, and what they actually want from each other. The show trusts you to care about political collapse and a couple's quiet conversations in equal measure. It ends on something real: not a victory, but two people choosing each other anyway, knowing what that costs.

Jinto and Lafiel cross the planar space of the Hyde System on the Bokbrusue, a transport with only light armament. Jinto is going there to govern the system as an earl of the Empire. Hyde fell back under imperial control once the Union pulled out, but the government of Martin, Jinto's homeland, refuses to accept imperial authority. At the same time, the First Devastation Fleet, organized around a new type of ship called the Attack Vessel, sets out for Hyde to hold training exercises. The two-episode OVA mixes science fiction action with romance.
