A song about friendship that doesn't need to earn it. The animation moves exactly as the music moves, no wasted frames, no pretense. This is what comfort feels like when it's done right, five minutes that remind you why you needed this.

Best Friend is a single-episode animated music video made for the song of the same name by the Japanese boy band SMAP. The video aired as part of NHK's Minna no Uta program, and its animation is credited to Toshio Nishiuchi and Hiromi Andou.
