A man fighting his own body while the clock runs out on everyone else's. Bio Hunter doesn't waste time on exposition or sympathy. It throws you into the mutation mid-scream, lets the body horror unfold in real time, and asks what you'd actually do if the cure was inside the thing trying to kill you. The script is thin, but that thinness becomes the point. There's no room for doubt, only survival and the grotesque mechanics of a man becoming something that shouldn't exist. Kawajiri's direction keeps every frame moving, every decision violent and immediate.
A demon virus is spreading across Japan, turning people into grotesque creatures that hunger for human flesh. Komada and Koshigaya teach molecular biology at a major university, and they also study these viruses while trying to get a cure out to those affected. During their research they meet Sayaka Murakami, granddaughter of a famous fortune teller, whose grandfather has gone missing. As they help search for him, they find that a gang of thugs is after Sayaka and seems tied to the viruses. One of the two scientists has also been infected. He struggles to hold back the demon growing inside him while turning its power toward saving other people. The result is a single-episode action horror OVA.
