The animation moves like nothing else from 1987, fluid and deliberate in a way that makes the grotesque creature design land with real weight. This is adult horror that doesn't flinch from depicting violence as violation, which means it costs something to watch. The plot knows exactly what it wants to say about power and corruption, even if the characters exist mainly to prove its points.

A fragile peace has held for centuries between the human world and a parallel realm of demons. Renzaburou Taki looks like an ordinary office worker but secretly belongs to the Black Guards, a hidden group that keeps the two realms in balance. With the peace treaty due for renewal, he and a demon woman named Makie must protect Giuseppe Mayart, an important human mystic. The job is hard: a militant demon faction is using terror to wreck the accord, and Giuseppe keeps slipping away to chase women. The film is a supernatural horror action drama with ecchi content.
