SYNOPSIS
A virus transforms humanity's protectors into its greatest threats. Massive walls of Varanium now cage the last surviving cities, holding back the Gastrea,creatures born from infected hosts who gain terrible strength with each mutation. Humanity's only defense comes from an unexpected source: young girls infected with the same virus who somehow retained their minds. Called the Cursed Children, these girls partner with handlers to hunt Gastrea in brutal one-on-one combat. Their infection gives them superhuman abilities that no ordinary soldier possesses. But survival comes with a horrifying cost. The virus inside them advances relentlessly, and they live under constant threat of complete transformation and losing themselves entirely. Ren Kouha and his Cursed Child partner Kisara operate in this grim world, investigating disappearances and fighting creatures that push them closer to the edge with each battle. As they uncover deeper conspiracies within the very institutions meant to protect humanity, they question whether the system keeping them alive is actually working to save them or destroy them.
