Three OVA episodes serve as a prequel to the Bungaku Shoujo film, each built around one of its heroines. Amano Tooko, a high schooler who can experience books by tasting them, finds a rejected contest manuscript at her late father's workplace and asks for it to be reconsidered. Asakura Miu escapes a troubled home into the books she loves and befriends Inoue Konoha, who is drawn in by her stories. Kotobuki Nanase cannot express her feelings for Konoha, seems to hate him instead, and tries with her friend Mori Kurara's help to clear up the misunderstanding.
