Ten-odd minutes buried on an anniversary Blu-ray, and it still gets more laughs per frame than shows with four cours to work with. This is Carnival Phantasm in full gag mode, ufotable treating the TYPE-MOON cast like a variety show sketch troupe, and the art never slacks off just because it's a bonus disc extra. Hibiki and Chikagi are the draw here, two newcomers dropped into the chaos who bounce off each other well enough that you immediately want a full series of them that you are never going to get. It is unapologetically for the people who already know the Fate and Tsukihime deep cuts, and if you don't, half the punchlines sail straight past you. That's the deal with Carnival Phantasm: the joke is the reward for having done the reading. Watch it, then go be annoyed forever that it was only one episode.
