The hide-and-seek between Hitomi and Toshi never gets old because the show knows the real heist isn't stealing the painting. It's the moment before the kiss, the glance across the gallery floor, the way she leaves him a clue he almost doesn't find. Every episode is built on the friction that they're on opposite sides of a line neither wants to cross, and the art theft is just the excuse to keep them there. The Kisugi sisters, Rui, Hitomi and Ai, keep a small cafe named Cat's Eye going during the day. Their father, the artist Michael Heintz, has disappeared, and the sisters hope his artworks hold hints about what became of him. To get at those works, they break into art galleries as a clever, enigmatic thief also known as Cat's Eye. Complicating matters, Hitomi is romantically involved with Toshi, a police inspector who has vowed to catch Cat's Eye and has no idea she leads a double life. The show mixes action, comedy, mystery and romance.
