On the continent of Kunaaan, a world of swords and sorcery, three kingdoms hold a balance of power so delicate that trouble in any one of them could drag the whole land into war. All of them fear Daganzord, an evil dragon who leaves ruin wherever he goes and whom no one can stop. Ten years ago, Bairo and Kismitete joined a group of mages in a ritual to seal the beast, but it failed and many died, an event remembered as the Balbagoa Tragedy. Their son Hiiro was rescued by the swordsman Giruu, who trained him in the blade. Driven by revenge, Hiiro sets out at sixteen to find and slay the dragon, with a reluctant Giruu at his side, meeting all sorts of people and gaining companions along the way.
