A computer-illiterate girl gets dragged into a digital world to save it, armed with nothing but transformation software and pure stubbornness. The show treats the internet like an actual place you can break into, fight through, and save, which sounds ridiculous until you remember this aired when the web still felt genuinely alien and dangerous to most people. Yui stays confused about technology the entire time, which makes her the perfect audience surrogate, and also the funniest part of a show that knows exactly how much fun it's having with late-90s internet mythology.

When a rogue supercomputer called Grosser sets out to seize control of Comnet, the single network linking every computer on Earth, a program named IR makes an unlikely choice for a savior: Yui Kasuga, a schoolgirl who can barely use a computer. Drawn into the virtual world, Yui gains the power to become Corrector Yui, using downloadable elemental suits to battle Grosser and his Corruptors. She is reluctant at first, since she knows almost nothing about computers. To stop Grosser, she must track down and win over seven other scattered corrector programs and find Professor Inukai, the creator of Comnet. The result is a comedic sci-fi adventure in the magical girl mold.
