Two kids from opposite sides of an empire's expansion wake up to what they're really part of through long conversations in borrowed time. The show trusts you to sit still for dialogue that builds a whole civilization's logic, then plants doubt in every philosophy it explains. By the end, neither of them can go home, and neither wants to stop trying.

Jinto Linn's world falls under the rule of the Abh Empire, the largest power in the galaxy, after his father, the planet's leader, hands it over in exchange for a place of rank within the empire. Now a young noble, Jinto is sent off to receive an Abh education and must learn to live among the people who conquered his home. Along the way he meets Lafiel, an Abh princess with a cold, reserved manner, and the two soon become friends. While they travel to his new school, their ship is caught in a space battle between the Abh fleet and the forces of the Four Nations Alliance, humanity's resistance. Neither of them knows the clash marks the start of full-scale war between the empire and mankind. Crest of the Stars is a 13-episode science fiction series that blends romance with action.
