Xiao Yan's redemption stops being about power and starts being about what he owes the people he's destroyed. The alchemy tournaments and competition arcs feel earned because they're not just power scaling, they're a public reckoning with his past. Every bout costs him something more than spirit energy. This is not a show for new viewers. Jump in here and you're watching someone else's catharsis. The art and score stay pristine across all 24 episodes, which matters when you're watching a man spend an entire season proving he deserves a second chance.

Xiao Yan heads to the capital for a gathering of pill masters, all in the hope of awakening his teacher, Yao Cheng.
