Hisone stumbles into piloting a literal dragon hidden inside a military base, and the show treats this with complete sincerity, no winking, no irony, just a girl learning that her inability to shut up around people is exactly what a centuries-old dragon needs to hear. The comedy lands because it comes from character, not setup. By the end you're watching a love story between a human and a dragon that feels earned, strange, and real in ways most romance anime never reach.

Hisone Amakasu is a blunt, guileless young woman who keeps hurting people with careless words, so she joins the Air Self-Defense Force hoping to keep others at arm's length. Stationed at Gifu Base, she wanders into a part of the facility she never knew existed and uncovers its biggest secret: the OTF, a dragon able to disguise itself as an aircraft. After the creature swallows her and spits her back out, her superiors tell her she has been chosen as the newest in a long line of Dragon Pilots. Alongside fellow cadets and her own dragon, Maso-tan, Hisone must face her insecurities, grow into the role, and uncover the secrets behind the OTFs. The mix blends action, comedy, drama, fantasy and romance.
