Nobody remembers this one, and the 80s OVA graveyard is full of forgotten things, but Fandora moves like a detective story pretending to be space adventure. The red jewel and the blue jewel are not MacGuffins, they are the actual plot, and the show trusts you to care about the geometry of power without screaming about stakes. In an era when warp travel is common and so are criminals who roam space, the space princess Fandora and her partner Que earn their living as bounty hunters. Fandora wields the red, magical Jewel of Lupia, turning to it in combat whenever ordinary weapons fall short. While chasing the space criminal Red Eye Geran, the pair reach the kingdom of Lemia, where a mysterious and evil religious leader has taken power away from the rightful rulers. He holds a blue jewel, and if it is joined with the Jewel of Lupia, the dimensions of the universe will be unified, bringing either an age of peace or one of terror. Fandora is destined to face him. The three-episode OVA blends adventure, fantasy and science fiction.
