A soul won't shut up inside a body on cocaine, and the animation doesn't look away from that. Sugimoto builds the visual language around the chatter, fractured, layered, obsessive, until you're trapped in the same loop the protagonist is. One music video, four minutes, and it dismantles the mythology of the drug high faster than any PSA ever could. The polarization makes sense: this isn't beautiful or cathartic. It's claustrophobic and true.

An independent animated music video made for the song "DušaN" by Saténové ruky, a band from Slovakia. Kousuke Sugimoto animated it as a favor to a friend who plays in the group. Its subject is the soul of its main character, which keeps on "talking" and will not go quiet while he is high on cocaine. A single short piece with a psychological bent.
