Uddiyana, a war-torn Asian country, has endured years of civil war that even United Nations peacekeepers cannot contain. Camerawoman Saeko Shirasu captures a photo of residents and soldiers raising a makeshift UN flag, and the image becomes a symbol of hope for peace. On the eve of a truce, extremists steal the actual flag. The UN sends the SDC, a special unit equipped with advanced combat robots called HAVWCs, to recover it, and Saeko joins the mission to record it. As the extremists stir up the population, time is running out. This director's cut film reassembles key scenes from the FLAG series into a single, realistic war story with mecha action and drama.
