A choked world lies beneath perpetual clouds. The sun is gone. Oxygen runs thin, and plants are dying. Humanity's answer comes wrapped in a terrible bargain: transform a person into a plant that yields a little oxygen. Toshiro Kamiya watches his mother suffer from illness while his job barely covers her medicine, let alone food. Desperation narrows his choices to the transfloration procedure, which would mean giving up his body in exchange for payment. As Kamiya weighs whether to save his family or himself, hard questions surface. Can such a process last? Is it right? Fool Night is a psychological sci-fi thriller about survival when the only thing left to sell is your own body.
