Dannis, also called Tanis, is the youngest child of two mad scientists and the only one in his family who was never genetically altered. His parents raised their children on an isolated island and experimented on them in secret, leaving his four older siblings with strange traits: Snow is part dog, Ashise is part plant, Aisley is part spider, and Suishi can read minds. When the parents are arrested, government officials move the siblings to a more populated island. None of them except Dannis knows how to function in ordinary society, so he takes charge of helping them adjust while keeping their unusual features hidden and searching for a way to make them normal humans again. The result is a supernatural slice-of-life story with a sci-fi premise.
