Water doesn't care about your past. Haruka learns this the hard way when an old friend pulls him back into the gravity well of competitive swimming, forcing him to confront a version of himself he thought he'd outrun. The show understands that growing up isn't about leaving people behind, it's about deciding, every single day, whether you're swimming toward something or just running away from it. College is supposed to feel like freedom. Instead it feels like choosing, over and over, between the person you were and the person you're trying to become. There's no montage that fixes that. There's just Haruka in the water, finally asking himself honest questions.

Now a college student at Hidaka University in Tokyo, Haruka Nanase runs into Shiina Asahi, a friend and teammate from his middle school swim team. The chance meeting stirs up painful memories of that time, when Haruka soured on swimming and walked away from the team. He later reconnects with other former classmates, but Ikuya Kirishima still holds a grudge, blaming Haruka's departure for the team breaking up. Haruka sets out to repair their friendship, only to find it is not his sole hurdle. Up against stronger swimmers than he has ever faced, he has to push himself hard to earn a place if he hopes to race internationally. The season mixes sports drama with comedy and everyday slice of life.
