Gachiakuta throws you off a cliff and the animation is so good you don't care that you're falling. The world looks like someone spray-painted a Dumpster into reality, all jagged lines and industrial filth, and the fights move with a physicality most action shows just talk about. A kid with nothing but spite and a garbage-tier power system climbing out of a literal trash heap should feel cheap, but the visual brutality sells it, this show understands that sometimes style is the only thing that needs to hit.

Rudo lives in the slums of a floating town whose wealthy residents think nothing of dumping their garbage into the Pit, a vast disposal area below. He scavenges their castoffs for anything reusable, despite warnings from his adoptive father Regto. When Regto is killed by an unknown attacker, Rudo is wrongly blamed and thrown into the Pit, a punishment no one returns from. He wakes in a toxic wasteland of junk overrun by huge Trash Beasts and is rescued by Enjin, one of the Cleaners who fight the creatures with weapons called Vital Instruments. After gaining a Vital Instrument of his own, Rudo joins the Cleaners, hoping to find a way out, learn the truth behind his framing and avenge his father.
