Kaiman bites a man's head clean off and finds another man's consciousness living inside it. That image is the entire show: grotesque, violent, absurd, and it does not apologize or explain itself. The worldbuilding is so warped and specific that it feels like you're watching someone else's fever dream, and the dark comedy lands harder because the gore is real, not theater. It moves fast enough that confusion becomes part of the experience instead of a problem. Nobody makes anime like this anymore.
Kaiman has a reptile's head and no memory of who he was before a magic user transformed him. Nikaido found him in a dark alley, and together they hunt the sorcerers of the Hole, a lawless city whose people the sorcerers kidnap and use for cruel experiments. Kaiman is immune to magic and fights with a pair of bayonets. He clamps his jaws around each sorcerer's head, and inside his mouth they see a second man. After pulling them back out, he asks what that man told them, hoping one day to find the sorcerer who cursed him. Nikaido, who runs the restaurant Hungry Bug, is his strongest ally. When En, the head sorcerer, hears that a lizard-man is killing his people, he sends a team of cleaners into the Hole and sets off a war between the two worlds. The show mixes action, dark fantasy, horror, mystery and comedy.
