Nobody's trying to make the next big thing here. Choushuu-kun finds the entire comedy in what's already in front of you: a kid being a kid, his friends being exactly as weird as real friends are, the small friction that comes from just existing near other people. Sixty episodes means this show has the space to breathe that most comedy never gets, to sit in a moment until it becomes funny instead of chasing the next joke. It's built for people who remember that the funniest part of school wasn't the plot, it was Tuesday.

Choushuu-kun is a boisterous elementary schooler, and the days he spends alongside his classmates keep turning out a bit odd. Ganbare! Choushuu-kun is a short-format TV comedy running 60 episodes. It draws its humor from the offbeat routines of an energetic kid and the ordinary school life around him, where things never stay quite normal.
