A girl with nothing to want meets a girl with everything to prove, and the boat club becomes the place where wanting something stops feeling like a luxury. Etsuko doesn't transform into a believer overnight, she drags herself to practice, questions why this matters, then slowly realizes the club isn't about winning or perfection, it's about four people deciding to show up for each other. By the end, you understand that sometimes the dream isn't yours until you're already in it.

Etsuko drifts through high school with no real direction until Riina transfers in and recruits her to start a rowing club. Etsuko's reluctant at first, but something about Riina's genuine passion chips away at her apathy. As the two of them scramble to find teammates and figure out how to actually run a boat club, something unexpected happens: Etsuko discovers she cares. About the sport, about showing up, about the people around her who are trying just as hard. What starts as one girl doing a favor becomes a story about finding purpose through commitment, even when you never thought you wanted it. The energy is grounded and sincere, built on small moments where hesitation transforms into determination. There's no manufactured drama here, just the quiet intensity of people learning to work together toward something that matters to them. This is for anyone who's ever been stuck in neutral and needed someone else's belief to spark their own. It celebrates the ordinary magic of showing up and giving something real a chance.
