Tachikomatic Days takes the thing fans loved most about Stand Alone Complex, the absurdist charm of tiny tanks obsessed with philosophy and snacks, and gives it room to breathe without pretending to be a real Ghost in the Shell episode. The folklore framing is a courtesy; what actually happens is six minutes of pure comedic chaos where self-aware AI things interrogate the nature of existence between conversations about pudding. It's the show Ghost in the Shell was always secretly trying to be: smart enough to hurt, funny enough to land, and absolutely unbothered by your expectations.

The Tachikomas take center stage in this comedy series of short episodes from the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex franchise, first broadcast on Animax. The earlier Tachikomatic Days shorts ran as add-on segments to the main Stand Alone Complex and 2nd GIG series. This special version tells longer stories instead, each built on folk tales from Japan and from Orthodox tradition, mixing that material with the franchise's mecha and science fiction setting for a lighter kind of humor. The twelve episodes were later gathered on a Blu-ray box together with the other Tachikoma shorts.
