Gintama finally traps the entire cast in a room where their actual feelings have nowhere to hide. Two episodes of watching Gintoki and Tsukuyo orbit each other while the Yorozuya melts down around them, all played for comedy that lands harder because you already know what these people mean to each other. It's the show admitting what fans have been screaming about for years, wrapped in enough chaos and bad timing to never feel saccharine.

A mysterious incense spreads through Yoshiwara, making anyone who breathes it fall head over heels for the first person they lay eyes on. Tsukuyo, the stern captain of the Hyakka, gets caught early, and the first person she sees is Gintoki, for whom she already harbored a secret attraction that now grows far stronger. When she slips up while trying to collect the incense, the smoke engulfs the entire red-light district, catching the Yorozuya along with Tae, Kyuubei and Kondou, who happened to be there. The group has to push past their own love-struck afflictions to stop whoever is behind it and set the district right. The two-episode comedy OVA was bundled with limited editions of Gintama manga volumes 65 and 66.
