A '70s mecha show that doesn't apologize for being exactly that: a pilot and a refugee girl scrambling to stop an alien occupation with a transforming robot that shouldn't exist. Jo Kaisaka doesn't train for heroism; he inherits it the moment Rita crashes into his life, and every fight is damage control against an enemy already winning. The Gaira, an alien race concealed in the Arctic, are scheming to take over Earth. They capture Dr. Yan and compel him to work for them, and he builds the ultimate weapon: Gloizer X, an aerial robot that can transform. Dr. Yan places the machine in the care of his daughter Rita, and Gloizer X gets free of the Gaira and comes down in Japan. There, a pilot named Jo Kaisaka finds Rita injured. Jo takes over the controls of Gloizer X, and together he and Rita battle the Gaira invasion in this 1970s mecha science fiction series.
