Gold Wing is a 1978 Korean animated science fiction feature directed by Kim Cheong Ki, who also made Robot Taekwon V. A young man gains super powers and becomes a transforming superhero, charged with protecting Earth from the evil schemes of a galactic conqueror. Much like the director's earlier robot film, it borrows themes and character designs from Japanese genre animation to give Korea its own world-saving hero, blending action, mecha and sci-fi.
