Makoto arrives in Tokyo with one dream: to study magic under Mamoru Hoshisato, the world-famous illusionist whose performance with his wife inspired him as a kid. He moves into the Hoshisato mansion, a house said to be haunted, where the butler Jeeves and the maid Emma give him a warm greeting. Hatena, Mamoru's daughter and Makoto's childhood friend, is glad he has come, but the two no longer get along, and their reunion turns sour. Meanwhile, a beautiful woman thief has been carrying out a string of burglaries across the city. As Makoto begins his apprenticeship, he learns about the magical Artifacts the Hoshisato family works to recover and who the magicians he admires really are. He keeps striving to become someone worthy of standing beside Hatena. The result mixes comedy, romance and the supernatural.
