The joke is that Iruma tries so hard to be invisible in demon school, and every single attempt to lay low explodes into him becoming more of a legend. The comedy timing is genuinely sharp, built on character moments that land harder because you actually care about these people. A cowardly kid surrounded by demons who genuinely love him, accidentally becoming the guy everyone respects.

Fourteen-year-old Iruma Suzuki has spent his life working to support his irresponsible parents, until the day he learns they have sold him to a demon named Sullivan. His fears ease once it turns out Sullivan only wants a grandson. The demon pampers him and enrolls him at Babyls, a school in the demon world where Sullivan serves as chairman. Iruma, a cowardly boy, tries to keep his head down so no one discovers he is human, but that proves harder than he hoped. Early on he is forced to recite a forbidden spell before the whole school, earning a reputation he never wanted. The comedy fantasy keeps pulling him into stranger situations as he faces challenges and begins to grow.
