Anos walks into a school full of people who think they know what a demon king is, then systematically proves they have no idea. The comedy lands because he's genuinely uninterested in the grandstanding, he just wants his descendants to stop being pathetic. Every confrontation is the same joke executed perfectly: someone threatens him, he disintegrates the threat without breaking eye contact, and the show moves on. The supporting cast actually has personality instead of orbiting the OP protagonist like satellites. It knows exactly what it is and executes it so cleanly that the generic skeleton underneath disappears.

Two thousand years ago, Anos ruled as the Demon King of Tyranny, having defeated humans, spirits and gods alike. Tired of endless warfare and hoping for a peaceful life, he chose to reincarnate. He wakes in a world that has grown too peaceful: his descendants have become weak and magic has sharply declined. Determined to reclaim his rightful place, Anos enrolls at Demon King Academy, only to find that his magical power is too great to be measured. Because no one can gauge his strength, and because demonkind remembers his deeds and legacy under an impostor's name, the faculty and students regard him as a misfit. Unfazed, and with Misha as the one classmate he befriends, Anos begins climbing the demon ranks while seeking those who rewrote his past. The result is a fantasy action comedy about a legendary king back in school.
