A delinquent forced to raise a demon baby in a school full of punks is the only premise that works this hard to make you laugh every single episode. The chemistry between Oga and Beelzebub is instant and effortless, the side characters actually have personalities that surprise you, and the show knows comedy is the only job it needs to do. It doesn't have a real plot to stand on, and the ending folds instead of lands, but by then you've already spent sixty hours with people you genuinely like watching their stupid problems unfold.

Oga Tatsumi rules Ishiyama High with his fists. He is a first-year and the most feared fighter at a school where every student is a delinquent. One day by a riverbed he pulls a floating man to shore, and the man splits down the middle to reveal a baby boy. The infant is Beelzebub, son of the Demon King, and he latches onto Oga at once. Joined by Hilda, the baby's demon maid, Oga is now expected to raise the future ruler of the underworld. Since being separated from Beel nearly kills him, Oga schemes to hand the child off to someone stronger and more evil than himself. The result is a supernatural action comedy full of brawls and demonic trouble.
