Narumi Fujishima spends his days avoiding classmates and drifting through high school invisible. Everything changes when Ayaka drags him to meet Alice, a mysterious girl living above a ramen shop who refuses to leave her room. Alice isn't lazy or lost, though. She's a brilliant hacker running a private detective agency from a room crowded with computer monitors and stuffed bears. When she recruits Narumi as her newest associate, he joins a ragtag team of NEETs, each possessing unusual skills and even stranger personalities. A personal link to a criminal case draws him in, and soon the group's investigations turn dangerous. They put Narumi up against gangs, thieves, murderers and drug dealers, while the team also hunts a crime syndicate that appears to have hidden ties to Alice herself.
