Eve is an abandoned five-year-old who turns up in the Forest of Scraps, a dumping ground for all sorts of cast-off things, having somehow survived its many dangers. There she meets an old dragon living out his last days. Out of pity, he takes her in and raises her as his daughter. After five years together he dies, leaving her alone, but Eve can do more than he ever suspected. Brought back as a skull dragon, he sets off on an adventure with his reckless daughter, hoping to help her master her magic before his revived body fails.
