Oreki and Chitanda are exactly as sharp and easy to be around as you remember, which means even a poolside nothing-mystery lands because of how they think together. The mystery itself barely matters, it's an excuse to watch four people exist in summer heat, bored and curious and content. This is fanservice in the truest sense: more time with characters you actually wanted to spend more time with.

Houtarou Oreki is spending an ordinary day at home when his sister Tomoe drags him into a job as a lifeguard at the local swimming pool. Once he arrives, he happens to run into the rest of the Classics Club. Eru Chitanda then notices something strange: a white object she saw on a woman's ear earlier has vanished. Her curiosity is roused, and the club ends up having fun at the pool while working out the small mystery she wants solved. This single OVA mixes gentle mystery with slice-of-life moments, is set between the eleventh and twelfth episodes of the main story, and came bundled with the limited edition of the third manga volume.
