Kanta's got baseball in his blood, but there's a problem: his mother won't even hear the word mentioned at home. She blames the sport for his father's death. Kanta lives with his mother, his brothers and sisters, and the family dog. Each morning he slips out to practice in secret with the dog, and before long a team called the Golden Liners asks him to join. When his mother catches him on the field and tells him to stop, he keeps heading out anyway. His persistence sets up a mix of sports action, adventure and family comedy, as the question of whether his mother can ever accept the game hangs over the household.
