Zorori's schemes blow up in his face so reliably that his failures become the actual plot, and somehow everyone walks away better off even though he never meant to help anyone. A fox with genuine cunning and zero ability to predict how his own plans will betray him, paired with two boars who just want to tag along. The punchline lands the same way every time: he plotted to ruin someone's day and accidentally saved it instead.

Zorori the fox has grand ambitions: he wants to become the Prince of Mischief, ruling from his own castle with a beautiful bride by his side. Problem is, his pranks rarely go to plan. His ill-intended schemes keep backfiring, often leaving his targets better off or in higher spirits than before, which annoys him greatly. What Zorori lacks in successful mischief he makes up for in brains, and he is clever enough to escape even the tightest jams. He travels with the twin boars Ishishi and Noshishi as he chases his long-held goal. Along the way he hopes to show his late mother, Mama Zorori, that he really can make his dreams come true. The film mixes adventure, comedy and fantasy as the trio stumbles from one scheme to the next.
