Kamichu! OVA doesn't exist to expand the story, it exists to sit with you in the quiet moments the TV series brushed past. The writing here has weight the original lacked, especially in those final two episodes where Yurie's feelings stop being background charm and become the actual point. You need the series first, but once you're in, these four episodes feel like coming home to a place that suddenly understands itself.

Kamichu! OVA gathers four episodes that were never broadcast on television and were only put out later on the home video release. On the DVDs they are slotted in among the broadcast episodes, taking the numbers 8, 11, 13 and 16 in that ordering. The genres point to a gentle mix of comedy, romance and everyday life with a supernatural twist.
