High school student Gorou Ono gets a text message offering to grant any wish he has. The one who grants it turns out to be a demon named Lall, who tells him he is now a player in a game that will decide the next God of the world. Every participant receives a special power, and soon his classmate Sawa Honoka attacks him with a giant sword. Gorou's ability, the Holy Book of the Fool, can kill, but each use makes his life worse. As the battles grow more vicious, alliances form and betrayals follow, and Gorou must find allies and master his power before he loses everything.
