This is a show about a guy who bought a kappa on impulse from a pet shop window, named him Kaatan, and then discovered that the how-to book he picked up is basically useless the second an actual creature is standing in his apartment. Every episode is that gap: the manual says raising a smart, well behaved kappa is simple, and Kaatan calmly proves otherwise.
