A children's song about water safety that somehow becomes quietly hypnotic instead of didactic. The animation moves like the song breathes, never rushing, never explaining. A kappa teaches you to respect the water not through fear, but through the simple fact that it knows things you don't.

Kappa wa Shitteiru is a single-episode music video set to the song of the same name by Midories. The piece was featured on two NHK programs, Minna no Uta and Ao Kiiro, and was produced as part of an effort to promote water safety.
